England name squad for UEFA Women's EURO 2022

Leah Williamson to captain Lionesses

Unused squad members include Hannah Hampton, Ellie Roebuck, Demi Stokes, Lotte Wubben-Moy and Bethany England

England manager Sarina Wiegman has named her 23-player squad for this summer's UEFA Women's EURO 2022 finals.

The Lionesses, who are led by captain Leah Williamson, will be aiming to win their first major trophy since 2015.

The squad includes a number of experienced players, such as Ellen White, Lucy Bronze and Millie Bright, as well as some exciting young talents, such as Ella Toone and Alessia Russo.

England have been drawn in Group A for the tournament, alongside Austria, Norway and Northern Ireland.

They will begin their campaign against Austria on July 6th at Old Trafford.
